VORTEX Air Cooled Stills & Condensers

The Still Spirits VORTEX is an air-cooled condenser for 2" tri-clamp stills. Three fans and a finned twin-tube core do the cooling that a water jacket normally does, so you can run a reflux still or a pot still with no hose, no tap adaptor and no cooling water — saving hundreds of litres every run.

Which VORTEX do you need?

• Already have a 2" tri-clamp still? Start with the VORTEX Air Cooled Condenser, or the version with tri-clamps and gaskets. It replaces a water-cooled condenser or dephlegmator.
• Want clean, neutral spirit for vodka and gin? That's a reflux still. Get the VORTEX Reflux Equipment Kit for your own boiler, the reflux still with Create+ 25L Boiler, or the complete reflux distillery kit.
• Want whisky, rum or brandy with flavour? That's a pot still. Get the VORTEX Alembic Equipment Kit, the copper alembic pot still with boiler, or the complete alembic distillery kit.

Why air cooled?

A water-cooled still ties you to a tap and a drain, and the flow needs babysitting as mains pressure and temperature change. The VORTEX swaps the water tap for a dial: turn it up and the fans cool harder, turn it down and they ease off. You can distil anywhere there's a power point, and the reflux kit reconfigures into an alembic setup when you want to switch styles.

Every VORTEX kit uses Create+ 2" tri-clamp components, so it works with the Create+ range, the Create+ 25L Boiler and Grainfather G40/G70 distilling lids.
