Pellet Hops - Chinook
Chinook hops have a distinct taste that makes them perfect for both bittering and adding flavor and aroma to Ales. Their medium intensity spice and pine notes, accompanied by subtle hints of grapefruit, make them a popular choice for IPAs. While some may find their lingering bitterness to be rough, others can't get enough of their unique and spicy flavor. Chinook hops are a favorite among many, and are versatile enough to be used at any stage of the boil. They are a prized ingredient in American-style Pale Ales, IPAs, seasonal ales, barley wine, and some porters and stouts. Developed in 1985, this cross between Petham Golding and a USDA male offers a robust grapefruit flavor and a pine-like, spicy bouquet. It has gained popularity in recent years, especially among craft breweries. You can find Chinook hops featured in Stone's Arrogant Bastard and in Sierra Nevada's Celebration Ale, alongside Cascade and Centennial hops
