How to use

  1. Make a sugar wash with 6kg of sugar, the Gin Distiller's Yeast and light spirits nutrient, following how to make gin from sugar. If you fill the airlock, use water rather than the cap so gas can escape.
  2. Clear the wash with Turbo Carbon and Turbo Clear, then transfer it to the Create+ boiler with Distillers Conditioner and boil enhancers.
  3. Fit the T500 condenser (now pre-packed with saddles) and connect cooling water with the faucet adaptor. A water flow regulator is highly recommended on household water.
  4. Load the London Dry botanicals into the botanicals basket for the gin run, then check strength with the alcometer.
  5. Dilute, filter through the EZ Filter and finish with the gin enhancer.

FAQ

Do I need distilling experience?

No. The kit is designed for beginners, and the condenser comes ready to use.

How much sugar do I need?

6kg per yeast packet, 12kg in total. White sugar, dextrose or Turbo Sugar are all fine.

Why a gin-specific yeast?

The Gin Distiller's Yeast is particularly clean, with a neutral congener profile, so the spirit is crisp and lets the botanicals come through.

Where is the full gin recipe?

Q&A

I'm interested in the above pack, but was wondering if i could upgrade it or make some changes. Ie. remove the T500 copper condensor and replace it with alembic pot condensor. Remove the plastic fermenter and replace it with the stainless steel fermenter. what would be the updated cost on the pack? thanks... my number is 0411 735 977
Hi Joseph, we do recommend the Turbo 500 over the Alembic for making gin as you first need to make a pure spirit. Then you can use the Alembic for the infusion run, or you can use the Turbo 500 by taking out all the saddles which is what we've recommend with this kit. If you have other requirements however we can do a custom kit for you, we'll contact you to discuss :)
