If Turbo Clear is not used then yeast cells will break open during the boiling process releasing off flavour and smell into your distillate but also impurities absorbed by fermentation clays and carbons will be released back into the distillate. For the very best alcohol QUALITY use Turbo clear in every wash and rack before distillation.

- Hi, I'm new to distillation, but I just succesfully fermented a sugar wash using Classic 8 Turbo yeast, 20 l of water and 8 kg of sugar. It's been a week now, reading is 0.988, but: I forgot to put Turbo Carbon at the beginning!! Can I add it now? If I can't add it, can I still use Turbo Clear or would be useless?! Any help appreciated Thanks, D
- Hi Damiano, no point to add the Turbo Carbon now, as it's there to absorb the off flavours throughout the fermentation. Leave it aside and use it on the next one. The wash will be fine, and yes I would recommend to use the Turbo Clear and give it a few extra days so it all drops out better.
