How to use
Watch the step-by-step video on YouTube before you start.
- Put on safety glasses.
- Use an empty SodaStream cylinder, chill it in the freezer, then weigh it on a digital scale and note the empty weight.
- Remove the residual pressure valve (RPV) from your supply cylinder valve.
- Screw the adaptor firmly onto the supply cylinder, push the SodaStream cylinder into the adaptor and tighten the thumbscrew.
- Turn the supply cylinder upside down so liquid CO2 can flow, then open its valve.
- When you can no longer hear gas flowing, close the supply valve and open the thumbscrew bleed to release trapped pressure.
- Remove the SodaStream cylinder and weigh it to confirm it has reached, and not passed, its target filled weight.

What can I fill from?
Australian Standard CO2 cylinders with a Type 30 (W21.8-14RH) valve, such as a 2.6kg or 6kg CO2 cylinder.
Why freeze the SodaStream cylinder first?
A cold cylinder takes liquid CO2 much more efficiently.
How do I avoid overfilling?
Weigh the cylinder empty before filling and again afterwards, and check it against its target filled weight.
What else do I need?
A full CO2 supply cylinder, a digital scale and safety glasses. Tell us what you already run and we will confirm what suits.
