We ship from our warehouses in Brisbane and Melbourne. Your order might ship from either warehouse, or from both, as different stock is held in different warehouses. A Schwarzbier: a German black lager at 40 EBC that pours like a stout and drinks like a lager. Ale malt with Carafa Type 2, acidulated malt and Special W, at 5.5% to 6.2%.
Twelve IBU is very low, and that is what separates a Schwarzbier from a porter. Carafa Type 2 is dehusked, so it brings colour and a hint of cocoa without the astringency roast malts usually carry — the beer stays smooth and dry.

What you get
- A cube of pre-boiled, sealed wort
- No yeast — a clean lager strain suits it
You skip the mashing and the boiling entirely. Tip the wort into a sanitised fermenter, add 3 L of pre-boiled cooled water, pitch and hold a cold, steady temperature. Yeast is not supplied, so add a sachet to your order.
