Blue Lake Milling Rolled Oats (Australian) add a smooth, silky creaminess to beer. Brewers use them in porters, stouts, IPAs and double IPAs to build body and mouthfeel without adding much flavour.
Oats have no diastatic power of their own, so they must be mashed together with malted grain to convert their starches. Use up to 25% of the grain bill, and add rice hulls when you go above 10% to help prevent a stuck mash.
