How to use
- Ferment (5 to 7 days): mix sugar, water and yeast in the fermenter.
- Distil (about 5 hours): clear the wash, connect cooling water and run it through the T500 Pro.
- Flavour: filter, dilute to drinking strength and add an essence.

What's the difference between the T500 Pro and the standard T500?
The Pro uses 30% less cooling water, has a T2-grade copper and stainless column, a detachable condenser, 2-inch tri-clamp fittings and comes with a digital alarm thermometer.
Is it suitable for beginners?
Yes. The kit includes instructions, video guides and everything for two batches.
Do I need running water?
Yes, a tap for cooling water. Adaptors for kitchen taps and garden hoses are included.
T500 Pro or Air Still Pro?
The T500 Pro makes about 8L per batch at up to 93% ABV but needs cooling water. The Air Still Pro is a benchtop unit with no plumbing, reaching up to 90% ABV in reflux mode or 80% in pot still mode.

- What effect does the chlorine and other chemicals in tap water have on the fermentation process and is it better to use RO/DI or distilled water? When diluting the distilled alcohol is it better to use tap water or RO/DI or distilled water?
- Hi Paul, thanks for the question :) Because you are distilling the water as well as the alcohol from the wash, it is fine to use normal tap water for fermentation. When diluting the distilled alcohol, so long as you carbon filter after dilution, using tap water is also fine, as the carbon filters both the water and the alcohol. - I just got my kit yesterday. Are there any written instructions or is is just a case of watching the videos? And what additional items do I need to buy other the sugar, yeast etc. for each batch I want to make?
