duotight 8mm (5/16) x Ball Lock Disconnect — Grey + Red Gas is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This is the grey and red gas ball lock disconnect, with the duotight fitting built into the body. An 8mm (5/16") line pushes straight in, so there is no threaded adaptor and no clamp sitting between the line and the keg post. The collet itself is black, which is the duotight colour code for the 8mm size; the grey and red body is the gas colour code.
The body is polyketone rather than acetal, with a stainless spring and ball bearings and EPDM and silicone seals. That combination stands up to the phosphoric sanitisers and caustics most brewers already have on the shelf. Burst pressure is over 300 psi at 25°C, and the overmoulded poppet lets you couple and uncouple at up to 150 psi without blowing an o-ring out.
The cap comes apart by hand, so clearing hop debris out of a poppet needs no screwdriver and no spanner. The short body also lets ball lock kegs stack while still connected to beer and gas lines, which matters once a fridge is full. Depth gauge marks on the fitting show when the line is properly seated.
