duotight 8mm (5/16) x Ball Lock Disconnect - Liquid (Black + Yellow) is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
This is the liquid side ball lock disconnect from the Generation 2 duotight range, with the duotight fitting built into the body. Your 8mm beer line pushes straight into the back of it, so there is no barb, no clamp and no threaded adaptor in between. The black collet and yellow body mark it as liquid.
The body is polyketone rather than acetal, with a stainless spring and stainless ball bearings, and EPDM and PP/EPDM seals. That combination stands up to the chemicals you actually use, including phosphoric sanitisers, caustic soda, acetic acid and peroxide, and it holds its performance better in the cold and under UV than acetal does. The poppet is overmoulded, so you can couple and uncouple at up to 150psi without blowing an o-ring out. The fitting itself is rated above 300psi.
The cap seals by hand and comes apart by hand, so clearing hop debris out of a poppet needs no screwdriver and no spanner. The small body also lets kegs sit closer together, and ball lock kegs can be stacked two high with the lines still connected. Gauge depth indicators on the collet show you when the line is fully seated.
