Discover the traditional lager strain from Weihenstephan Germany, renowned for generations for crafting crisp and harmonious lagers ranging from pilsners to doppelbocks. As with all CellarScience yeast, GERMAN can be directly pitched into your wort, making for a hassle-free brewing process. Each sachet contains 12g of yeast, an exceptional 9% more than any other dry yeast brand. Our dedicated PCR testing guarantees superior quality with every batch. GERMAN, now available in sachets for homebrewers, has long been a favorite among seasoned breweries.

Recommended Usage: Use two sachets for a Single 19-23L batch. For larger batches, calculate 0.66-1.06g per Liter of wort. We recommend rounding up and using a full sachet to ensure optimal results. [70-100g per 100L]

GERMAN yeast can be easily pitched onto your wort with no need for oxygenation in the early fermentation stage. Thanks to our advanced aerobic growth process, our dry yeast has exceptional viability and sterol levels. This crucial product is loaded with essential nutrients for a smooth and complete fermentation. While rehydration isn't necessary, some brewers prefer it. To do so, sanitize the yeast brick and scissors, then mix 10 grams of sterilized tap water (85-95°F/29-35°C) with 0.25 grams of FermStart per gram of yeast. Sprinkle yeast onto the water and let it sit undisturbed for 20 minutes before swirling. Adjust the slurry to within 10°F (6°C) of the wort temperature and pitch. Ferment between 50-59°F (10-15°C) for optimal results.

Optimum Fermentation Temp: 50-59°F
Flocculation: High
Alcohol Tolerance: 9-10% ABV (WY2124 9%)
Attenuation: 78-85%
International Code: DY104
Similar Strains: WLP830, WY2124, W-34/70
