The Benchy Carbon is a benchtop inline chiller that pours two taps and runs on 12V or 24V DC as well as mains power, so a keg can go where the power point does not.
Its heat sink is solid carbon rather than liquid glycol. There is no coolant to spill when the unit is tipped, carried or driven around, which is what makes it workable for camping, a 4WD or an off-grid setup on batteries and solar. It also does away with the bags of ice a jockey box needs.
Cooling runs at 150W, around 8L an hour at 20°C ambient. Allow about two minutes of recovery after every 500ml poured, and about 15 minutes from switch-on before the first pour. If you need more throughput than that, the Benchy Glycol dispenses over three times as much.
Power draw is small: 60W with the compressor running, 1.6W idle, and around 15W on average as it cycles to hold temperature. Because it chills only the beer being poured rather than a whole cabinet, there is less heat to fight. Two NukaTap FC taps come fitted. Sit it on the bench, or mount it under the counter and run a beer tower on top.
