5 Micron Polyspun Sediment Water Filter Cartridge - 10 inch x 2.5 inch is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
First-stage sediment cartridge for any standard 10" x 2.5" filter housing. Catches grit, rust, sand and suspended particles before they reach your carbon block, RO membrane or appliance.
Polyspun is the material to use here. Unlike foam or wound-string cartridges it doesn't harbour bacteria to the same degree, and it gives high flow with very little pressure drop — which matters if you're feeding a carbonation unit that needs its inlet pressure held above the gas pressure.
Specifications
- 5 micron nominal filtration
- Standard 10" x 2.5" — fits common twin and single housings
- Polyspun polypropylene construction
When to replace
Typically every six to twelve months. If you notice flow dropping off at the tap, the sediment stage is usually the culprit — it does the dirty work so the carbon stage doesn't have to.
Always run this as your first stage, ahead of any carbon block or RO membrane.
