Still Spirits Bourbon Essences

Bourbon flavouring essences give you a recognisable bourbon character without a mash bill, a barrel or years of ageing. The range covers Kentucky profiles with corn sweetness and vanilla, smoother Tennessee styles, and honey and cherry variants.

Adding Oak

An essence handles flavour, but bourbon's colour and depth come from the barrel. Oak added after flavouring closes that gap, and char level matters: heavier char brings colour and smoke, lighter toast leans to vanilla and caramel. See oak chips and spirals for the ageing step, bourbon essences for the brand range, or distilling yeast and carbon for the wash stage.

Match char level to the colour and smokiness you want.
