Vegetarian and Vegan alternative to Turbo Clear

Chitosan fining agents which is part B of the Turbo Clear product, is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans as it contains chitosan derived from the shells of crustacea.

However, we do offer a fungal derived chitosan product which is vegan friendly and could potentially be used as an alternative.

Although intended for use in beer, this alternative fining agent will work in other applications, although without the Kieselsol / Silica Solution (part A of Turbo Clear) it will not be as fast acting or effective.

Due to the lower dosage of the pack we would recommend using up to 2-3 sachets of Liquid Beer Finings when treating a 25 L Turbo Yeast wash if a shorter clearing time is required.
