With its incredible grapefruit and citrus aromas, Riwaka is an absolute standout during selection. This variety boasts a higher than average oil content, nearly double that of its parent Saaz, making it a favorite among brewers in New Zealand. Known for its sweet citrus notes and a near equal balance of alpha and beta acids, Riwaka is a must-have hop for creating the perfect hoppy beer. Formerly known as D Saaz, this incredible product was released to the brewing world in 1997 as part of HortResearch's "hops with a difference" program.
