This Australian Cabernet Shiraz carries a heavy oak character with notes of blackberry, pepper, leather, and toast. A dry, full-bodied red blend with an alcohol level of 13.5% by volume. The VineCo Estate Cab/Shiraz blend includes medium toast oak chips that are popular for imparting a complex balance of vanillin and spice along with a subdued oak aroma. They also help build the body, mouthfeel and slight oak aromatics associated with this style of blend.

The combination of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz is one of the staple blends produced in Australia. Shiraz and Cabernet are the most and second most widely planted grapes in the country, and celebrated for putting Australia on the world winemaking map. The two make for an excellent pairing, as Cabernet’s solid structure and complexity are perfectly matched by Shiraz’s ripe, velvety character.
