    Classic 8 is the best selling Turbo Yeast world-wide, performing excellently under most conditions. It reaches 18% ABV where 8kg of sugar is used and has excellent temperature tolerance. Classic has been further improved with the inclusion of new mineral absorbents, further improving distillate quality. We recommend you use Turbo Carbon as it will significantly improve the performance of Classic Turbo.Β 

    All our yeast hasΒ a minimum expiryΒ date of 6 months after purchase. If you keep the yeast refrigerated, it was last an extra year past the expiry date.Β

      I have a wash using the turbo 8 yeast & 8kg turbo sugar, the SG is 1.05 after 14 days, wash temp is 20c. no sign of any further activity, fermentation seems complete. Any idea as to what's happening?
      Hi Paul, It sounds like the fermentation might have stalled. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions: Nutrient Deficiency: Turbo yeast can sometimes run out of nutrients, especially with high sugar content. Adding a yeast nutrient or energizer might help restart the fermentation Temperature: While 20°C is within the acceptable range, turbo yeast often performs better at slightly higher temperatures (around 24°C). You might try gently warming the wash to see if it helps Alcohol Tolerance: If the alcohol content has reached the yeast's tolerance level, fermentation will stop. Turbo yeast typically has a high tolerance, but it's worth considering Oxygen: Lack of oxygen can also cause fermentation to stall. Gently stirring the wash to introduce some oxygen might help Hydrometer Calibration: Ensure your hydrometer is calibrated correctly. Sometimes, readings can be off due to calibration issues If none of these solutions work, you might consider pitching more yeast or transferring to a secondary fermenter to see if it helps kickstart the process again.       if using dextrose do i simply add a kilo ?
      Hi Brian, for Classic 8, 8kgs of dextrose is OK, you can add an extra kilo if you want to maximise the yield, however fermentation time will be longer so keep that in mind.
