The Air Still Fermentation Kit contains the base ingredients required to make an 8 L wash for distilling a neutral spirit with the Still Spirits Air Still or Air Still Pro - just add sugar and water.

What's Included:

  • 1 x sachet Pure Turbo Yeast Nutrient (78g)
  • 1 x sachet Turbo Clear (65g)
  • 1 x sachet Turbo Carbon (57g)
  • 1 x sachet Pure Turbo Yeast (12g)

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Clean and sanitise all equipment before use.
  2. Prepare water making sure you end up with 21 L (5.5 US Gal) at the correct water start temperature (indicated on the back of the sachet).
  3. Now add sugar, and stir until completely dissolved before adding Turbo Yeast and Turbo Carbon.
  4. Turbo Clear Part A: Once fermentation is complete, stir the wash vigorously to remove the gas. Once degassed, add the contents of Part A and stir well, then leave to stand for 1 hour.
  5. Turbo Clear Part B: After 1 hour, slowly pour Part B evenly over the top of the wash while stirring gently to help spread it evenly. Do not stir vigorously as this will disrupt the clearing process. Leave to clear for at least 24 hours. During this time Part B will drop down from the top, taking unwanted yeast and other compounds with it to the bottom.

Ingredients:

  • Pure Turbo Yeast: yeast nutrients, bentonite, dried yeast (yeast, emulsifier (E491)), activated silicone dioxide, antifoaming agent, vitamins, trace minerals.
  • Turbo Carbon: water, activated carbon, thickener (E415), preservative (sodium metabisulphite).
  • Turbo Clear: Part B sachet: water, acid (malic acid), chitosan (crustaceans), preservative (sodium metabisulphite). Part A sachet: silica solution.
  • Allergens included: Sulphites and crustaceans.

Hi, 1. I have a 20 L brew container can I simply use 2 packets of Air Still fermentation kit to make 20 L wash? 2. With air still , do you recommend discarding the first amount to come off? If so, how many mL? Thanks
Hi Roger, in answer to your questions - 1. I have a 20 L brew container can I simply use 2 packets of Air Still fermentation kit to make 20 L wash? No, you cannot do this with the Air Still Fermentation Kits. This is called "stacking" and what happens is that when yeast eats sugar it creates heat, and using two or more packets of yeast with double sugar creates too much heat and it kills the yeast. If you would like to do larger batches, we recommend purchasing the Pure yeast which is the same yeast strain that is in the Air Still Fermentation Kit and makes a 25L wash: https://distilleryking.com.au/collections/pure-turbo-yeast 2. With air still , do you recommend discarding the first amount to come off? If you use the Air Still Fermentation Kit, you do not need to discard anything. Hi just wondering how long after distilling in the air still is the alcohole drinkable. I have an old z carbon filter system will this work.it use to leak a bit is there a beter option available now . Thanks
Hi Troy, the alcohol from the Air Still is drinkable from the moment it comes out, a wash takes around a week to ferment using this Air Still Fermentation Kit and then a couple hours to distil in the Air Still.
