Light, dry and built for warm weather and a wedge of lime if that is your habit.

The flaked corn is doing what rice does in a Japanese lager — fermenting out cleanly and thinning the body, so the beer finishes crisp. At 20 IBU there is just enough hop to keep it from being bland.

Specifications

Wort volume: 16.5 L

Original gravity: 1.045 with 3 L of water added

Bitterness: 20 IBU

Style: Mexican lager

Hops: Motueka and Saaz

Malt: ale, Carapils and flaked corn

What you get

16.5 L of pre-boiled, sealed wort in a cube

No yeast — a clean lager strain such as W-34/70 suits it

There is no mash and no boil.
