That malt pipe is a two stage design and takes 30 percent more grain than the previous one, which is the difference between a standard gravity batch and a big one, and the two height positions make it easier to lift when it is loaded.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA false bottom screen sits over the pump inlet and catches hop and hot break material before it reaches the pump. The element runs at a low watt density, so a pale wort caramelises less against the element, boil overs are less likely and cleaning is easier.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe RAPT controller has a full colour screen that detaches for cleaning and tilts so you can read it standing up, and it runs the pump as well.
